OUR MISSION: SWANA is an organization of professionals committed to advancing from solid waste management to resource management through a shared emphasis on education, advocacy, and research.

Category I – Grant H. Flint International Scholarship

The Category I Grant H. Flint International Scholarship ($5,000) is awarded by SWANA to applicants who will be graduating from high school and attending their first year of college. SWANA requires SAT/ACT/Achievement Test Scores and a letter of acceptance to an accredited institution for this application, which will be evaluated by Sierra Chapter and provided to SWANA during the nomination process. SAT/ACT/ Achievement Test Scores and a letter of acceptance to an accredited institution must be submitted per requirements set forth by SWANA International in the application forms attached

Sierra Chapter is looking for a very deserving and hard-working student who wants to make a difference! 

Scholarship applications for 2024 are due to the Sierra Chapter Scholarship Committee Chair (Dawyne Balch at Dawyneb@cityofclovis.com) by May 1. Sierra Chapter will review all applications and may nominate one applicant for a SWANA International Scholarship. Applications are due to SWANA by June 3. The application for this scholarship must be submitted on SWANA’s application form. SWANA’s awards will be announced during summer.
