Manager of Landfill Operations and Managing Compost Programs
The Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) Manager of Landfill Operations (MOLO) course was developed to give solid waste professionals exposure to the regulatory and operational challenges encountered in solid waste disposal. Students attend 3 days of intensive instruction. Participants who complete the course may then take a 3-hour comprehensive exam offered online by SWANA to become certified then must participate in professional development to maintain the certification.
Managing Composting Programs addresses concepts critical to successfully managing composting programs, including the rationale for composting, planning and site development, economics, and operations. Managing Composting Programs discusses best practices, emerging technologies, and management issues characteristic of municipal composting programs. The course consists of class lectures, discussions, activities, and may include an optional facility tour.
SWANA offers multiple professional certifications in several areas of solid waste management. More information is available on the SWANA website here.
